The Louisiana Supreme Court upheld the statute that prohibits certain convicted felons from possessing a firearm. In 2012, the legislature created an amendment that required the passage of any gun law to be subject to “strict scrutiny.” The Supreme Court seems to believe the convicted felon statute passes that test.
